A Rest Day

Today was our rest day. We had planned this to be either Sunday or Monday as Tom had an administrative task to complete today which involved a rather long walk to Willenhall and back. I used the time, in fine weather, to touch up some of the scars we picked up coming down the narrow Shroppie, while Margaret and Jan walked to the nearby Morrisons supermarket half a mile away. Our moorings at Autherley Junction are good for 48 hours, with rings, a clean hardcore tow path, and the added interest of the goings on at the junction and nearby hire base of Napton Narrowboats. After lunch Tom re-appeared, mission accomplished, and we decided our journey north would continue first thing tomorrow, making up time over two or three days - not a problem.

Waiouru and Kelly-Louise moored at Autherley Junction.

Napton Narrowboats hire base and shop, just in front of Autherley Lock at the end of the Shropshire Union canal, or if you prefer the old name for this section, the Birmingham and Liverpool Junction Canal.
