Today was Singapore, ashore at 8am, all aboard by 8.30pm, weather very hot and sunny. P&O provided a free bus to the Harbour Front where we got a taxi to the Ion Mall on Orchard Rd., home to many designer shops including the official Panerai watch boutique, again for those certain Australian readers with an interest here. The limited edition 386 is now sold out worldwide, but may or may not be put into general production at a later date. However, we were shown a model 350, I think, which was identical in every way except for the matt finish brown case. Same face, same movement, at $11,200 Singapore dollars. (The 386 there was $12,500 Sing. when it was in stock.) Reasearch it further and let us know, there is another Panerai boutique in Hong Kong. For the rest of the day we explored the Orchard Road shops, ending up at Raffles Hotel for Singapore slings, lunch and coffee. Thanks go to Robyn and Bill for a wondeful experience there. A sea day tomorrow, then in to Vietnam for 2 visits.
