On To Wheaton Aston

After heavy overnight rain the weather was kind to us again today, clearing to lovely warm sunshine by lunchtime. First stop was for Tom to use the services at Norbury Wharf, where we both then took the opportunity of taking on fresh water.

Passing through Grub Street cutting en route where you will find the most photographed canal bridge in the country, complete with telegraph pole.

We stopped for a short lunch break and a pleasant walk around the village of Gnosall......

.....before passing through High Onn, where the view of the wharf and it's warehouse is just the same as it was 100 years ago.

And on to our destination for today, Wheaton Aston, which is less than 7 miles from the junction with the Staffs and Worcester Canal, where we will head  north east to pick its junction with the Trent and Mersey Canal and our route home. But not before we have visited the beautiful village of Brewood tomorrow.
