Skipton Market

Today's outing was Skipton Market - market days are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The number 72 bus picks up at the caravan park entrance, and the direct route to Skipton is 10 miles, but the bus service takes you on a guided tour of all the small villages, such as Grassington, Linton, Cracoe and Rylston - the real life village of the "Calendar Girls", before reaching Skipton. Margaret used her bus pass, but the return trip cost the toy boy £6.85.

Anyone fancy a doer upper? This boarded up large country house opposite the bus stop is on the market for redevelopment.

No visit to Skipton is complete without eating one of the celebrated hot pork pies from here.

Another hot and sunny day.
